Catkin was launched in 2006 by Rachel Petheram. Her passion for flowers began in 2002 when she grew her own wedding flowers and has blossomed over the years into the artisan floristry, teaching and flower growing offering that is Catkin today.

An ardent champion of British grown flowers, Rachel was at the forefront of the revival of the movement and grows many of her own flowers in the stunning walled kitchen garden of Doddington Hall in Lincolnshire.  She uses these grown flowers for weddings, courses and to create a beautiful, inspirational space for her clients.  Using British seasonal flowers offers incredible variety and some of the very best that the country garden has to offer.  Each bouquet or arrangement is an abundant feast for the senses, soft and sensual, wild and wonderful. Each one is a unique reflection of the cutting garden and the time of year and is created to make the most of the natural beauty of the flowers chosen.  Rachel offers a personal, bespoke service to create unique, beautiful designs and works with her clients to design something that they love using the very best the seasons can offer.

A deep connection to the garden and its plants is fundamental to Rachels approach to floristry. Her arrangements are known for capturing the essence of both garden and season and she takes great delight in fostering her clients deeper connection to nature, with beautiful results.

Using her extensive teaching and floristry experience she runs many courses which tap into something more profound than simply growing or arranging flowers. Rachel believes “our connection with nature is vital to our well-being and time spent in gardens and working with natural materials allows us to restore and grow”. Rachel loves using nature to create beautiful personal transformation via the medium of floral play and creativity and is an experienced mentor and teacher helping you find your thing.
